High school students can earn college credit, save money and explore a variety of careers, with three new online courses through Marian University. Each completed course is $50.00 and participants earn (1) college credit and a $500.00 pre-college scholarship. Starting in March 2023, these classes will be available:
Intro to Criminal Investigation Professions: Explore crime-solving techniques, with each class focused on a new aspect of crime scene investigation and careers in forensic science, criminal justice, psychology, biology, homeland security, social work and social justice.
Intro to Business Professions: (3/14-4/11, Tuesdays, 7-8 pm) Develop your business savvy with topics from finance, accounting and marketing to specialized fields, such as health care administration and sports and recreation and management.
Intro to Health Professions: (3/15-4/12, Wednesdays, 3/15-4/12, 6-7 pm): Have a heart for helping people? Get immersed in nursing, radiologic technology, sonography, social work, exercise and sports science and other pre-professional health programs.
These 100% online courses are offered on different days, allowing students to participate in all three. The courses feature interactive faculty-led discussions and guest speakers with first-hand knowledge and expertise. Virtual courses are offered synchronously, so students learn together in the same virtual classroom and at the same time.
