FOIA Request to Dodge County Regarding Public Records from January to October 2024 on October 7, 2024.
In our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Fond Du Lac Times have sent a request for public records under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., to Dodge County.
The request, sent on October 7, 2024, specifically seeks access to the county's FOIA logs from January 1, 2024 till October 7, 2024. The requested fields include the requester's name and organization, the content of the request, the date of the request and its completion date as well as its current status.
As media professionals involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These responsibilities include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.
