FOIA Request to Village Of Brownsville Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Fond Du Lac Times have sent a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., to the Village Of Brownsville.
Our request is for a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024. This information is crucial in fulfilling our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
We believe that access to such public records is essential in gathering and reporting news that affects our community. As a media organization, we also believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as part of our role in disseminating this important information.
