Rep. Glenn Grothman, who represents Wisconsin’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to highlight legislative developments and policy changes impacting financial privacy and employment rights for individuals with disabilities.
On July 17, 2025, Grothman announced the passage of legislation by the House aimed at protecting citizens from government surveillance via digital currency. In his tweet, he stated: "The House just passed the Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act to protect your financial freedom and privacy. No government-run digital dollar. No unelected bureaucrats controlling your money."
The following day, on July 18, 2025, Grothman shared another update regarding employment policy for people with disabilities. He wrote: " Great News! The @USDOL has withdrawn its proposed rule to end 14(c) certificates – a major win for individuals with disabilities and their right to meaningful employment choices. This week - I had a powerful meeting with the Coalition for the Preservation of Employment Choice". He followed up this message by tagging the U.S. Department of Labor in a subsequent tweet: @USDOL.
Glenn Grothman has served as a member of Congress since 2015 after succeeding Tom Petri in representing Wisconsin’s 6th district. Prior to his current role, he was part of both chambers of the Wisconsin state legislature: serving in the State Assembly from 2003 to 2005 and in the State Senate from 2005 to 2015. Born in Milwaukee in 1955 and currently residing in Glenbeulah, Grothman holds both undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
