Congressman Glenn Grothman (R-WI) released a statement concerning the second assassination attempt on Former President Donald Trump.
“It is alarming, but not surprising, that after 40 years of calm, President Donald Trump has been the subject of an assassination attempt for the second time in two months."
Grothman attributed the attempts to "crazed rhetoric by leading Democrat politicians, including Kamala Harris herself," and criticized mainstream media outlets for reporting what he described as "rubbish." He stated, “It is not surprising that some people have resorted to assassination in response to such heated rhetoric.”
Grothman emphasized Trump's previous tenure as president, highlighting his policies on domestic energy output, corporate tax rates, and foreign wars. He asserted that Trump did not attempt to turn the U.S. into a dictatorship and compared the current situation to the 2017 assassination attempt on Congressman Steve Scalise.
“I call upon all leading Democrat mouthpieces, ABC, NBC, CNN, to publicly state that Donald Trump is not a threat to democracy—and clarify what they meant by their statements,” Grothman concluded.
