FOIA Request to Town Of Waupun Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
We at Fond Du Lac Times have sent a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., to the Town of Waupun for a list of new voters who registered on Election Day, November 5, 2024. As a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we believe that access to public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities.
Our aim is to hold public institutions accountable and provide transparency to the public. We requested this information in electronic format for ease of dissemination and analysis. In our request, we also mentioned our eligibility for a fee waiver as media professionals engaged in gathering and reporting news to the public.
