FOIA Request to City of Waupun Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government affairs, we at Fond Du Lac Times have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the City of Waupun. The request, sent under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., seeks a list of new voters who registered on Election Day, November 5, 2024.
As a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. This includes holding public institutions accountable and ensuring transparency for the public.
We believe that as media professionals involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver for this request. We await the response from the City of Waupun and will continue our efforts to keep the public informed about important civic matters.
