Rep. Glenn Grothman, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Wisconsin’s 6th district, recently took to social media to express his concerns regarding alleged political bias within FEMA operations following Hurricane Milton. Grothman has been a congressional representative since 2015 and previously served in the Wisconsin State Assembly and Senate.

On November 21, 2024, Rep. Grothman stated, "I was appalled when I learned that FEMA employees were instructed to disregard houses affected by hurricane Milton if they had signs supporting President Trump. That’s why I was glad @GOPOversight held a hearing on the issue."

In a subsequent post made on the same day, he further addressed the situation by questioning FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell about potential political influences within FEMA's operations. He wrote, "To get to the root of this problem, I asked FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell why political donations from the union representing FEMA workers went 95% to Democrats and if that contributed to the environment that produced this directive."

Continuing his critique of the response received during his inquiry, Grothman noted in another tweet, "Unfortunately, the Administrator stuck to pre-prepared answers rather than giving a real answer to my question."
