Glenn Grothman shares highlights on Air Force Reserve anniversary and student initiatives

Rep. Glenn Grothman, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress from Wisconsin's 6th District, recently shared reflections and updates through a series of tweets. Representing Wisconsin since 2015, Grothman was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and holds degrees from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. The tweets cover a range of topics from military history to local student initiatives.

On April 14, 2025, Rep. Grothman acknowledged an important military milestone, the 77th anniversary of the Air Force Reserve. He noted its "vital role in our national defense" and the legacy it has built through dedication and resilience over the years. The Reserve was established on April 14, 1948, and has been serving the nation for more than seven decades. "Today marks the 77th anniversary of the Air Force Reserve, established on April 14, 1948. For over seven decades, the Reserve has played a vital role in our national defense - standing ready, serving with excellence, and embodying a legacy of dedication and resilience."

Rep. Grothman also highlighted a community engagement activity through his tweet on April 16, 2025. He announced the opening of the voting period for the "People’s Choice Award," which displays "incredible artistic talents of students" in Wisconsin's Sixth District. Voting takes place on his Facebook page and is scheduled to conclude on Wednesday, April 23 at 11 am CT. He wished good luck to all participants in this initiative. "The 'People’s Choice Award' highlights the incredible artistic talents of students in #WI06! Visit my Facebook page to vote for your favorite piece of artwork from a student in the Sixth District. Voting begins TODAY and ends on Wednesday, April 23 at 11am CT. Good luck!"

A further educational and skill-building initiative was addressed by Grothman in another tweet made later the same day. He shared his experience at the Winnebago Lutheran Academy with "Project GRILL," an activity aimed at challenging high school students to develop skills in engineering and teamwork by designing and building a working grill. Grothman described witnessing the presentations as inspiring, emphasizing the program's impact on students. "Project GRILL challenges high school students to design and build a working grill, developing real-world skills in engineering, manufacturing, and teamwork. It was inspiring to see the presentations at Winnebago Lutheran Academy and witness firsthand the impact of this powerful."

Glenn Grothman has served in the U.S. Congress, representing Wisconsin's 6th District, since 2015. He previously served in the Wisconsin State Assembly from 2003 to 2005, on the Wisconsin State Senate from 2005 to 2015.
