Rep. Glenn Grothman, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Wisconsin’s 6th district, shared several updates on his activities and views through social media posts dated May 13 and May 14, 2025.
On May 13, Grothman expressed enthusiasm about meeting with Mercury Marine, a leading manufacturer of recreational marine propulsion engines based in Fond Du Lac. He stated "Great to meet with @MercuryMarine today! Based in Fond Du Lac, Mercury Marine is the world's leading manufacturer of recreational marine propulsion engines, adding strength to Wisconsin’s manufacturing industry." Grothman also voiced his support for local manufacturers.
Later that day, he took to social media again to express his support for law enforcement officers during National Police Week. He remarked "I stand with the brave men and women of law enforcement who put their lives on the line to keep our communities safe." Grothman emphasized the importance of honoring their service and remembering those who have fallen.
On May 14, Grothman addressed concerns regarding the nation's prison system following President Trump's call to reopen Alcatraz. He mentioned introducing legislation aimed at addressing staffing shortages within Bureau of Prisons facilities nationwide. He noted "President Trump’s call to reopen Alcatraz highlights the growing concern that our nation’s prison system is overwhelmed and understaffed."
Glenn Grothman's political career includes service in both the Wisconsin State Assembly and Senate before succeeding Tom Petri in Congress in 2015. Born in Milwaukee in 1955, he holds degrees from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
