U.S. Representative Glenn Grothman, who represents Wisconsin’s 6th district in Congress, posted a series of tweets on July 17, 2025, discussing immigration policy and expressing concerns about the number of illegal immigrants entering the United States under recent administrations.
In his first post, Grothman thanked Tom Homan for his work and stated: "I also thank @RealTomHoman for his work. Let’s not forget, over 9 million illegal immigrants were let in under the Biden Administration, and millions more under past presidents who turned a blind eye to the law." (July 17, 2025).
He continued by highlighting the perspective of legal immigrants: "@RealTomHoman This surge was a slap in the face to the millions who followed the rules and waited years to come here legally. I meet legal immigrants all the time who are outraged that others break the law and face no consequences." (July 17, 2025).
In another tweet from that day, Grothman addressed future immigration policy discussions: "@RealTomHoman Only after we see the success of the removal efforts can we have a serious discussion about the number of work visas needed. Keep in mind, roughly 850,000 people become citizens each year, and another 4 to 5 million come legally on work visas. Legal immigration works, and" (July 17, 2025).
Glenn Grothman has represented Wisconsin’s 6th District since taking office in Congress in 2015 after replacing Tom Petri. Before joining Congress he served in both chambers of Wisconsin's state legislature—first as a member of the State Assembly from 2003 to 2005 and then as a State Senator from 2005 to 2015. Born in Milwaukee in 1955 and currently residing in Glenbeulah at age sixty-seven, Grothman holds both undergraduate and law degrees from University of Wisconsin–Madison.
