Fond Du Lac Times

Josh Shell, president and owner of Badgerland Connections, has been recognized as Young Professional (YP) of the Month for October 2025. Shell, who is originally from Fond du Lac, attributes his move to the area to his employment.

Shell described what he enjoys most about his career: "I love the daily challenges that come with entrepreneurship. Every day feels like a game of chess and it keeps me on my toes!"

When asked for advice for other young professionals regarding career building, Shell said, "Attitude and effort is everything. Be positive and put forth true effort. Success will follow."

He shared that his main motivation comes from family: "My wife and children. Everything I do is for them."

Shell identified bravery, openness, and honesty as three characteristics that define him.

In his free time, Shell enjoys golfing, hunting, and spending time in nature. He recommends others explore the nature trails in Fond du Lac.

Shell is active in the community by serving on several boards including Blueline Hockey, St Peter Athletic Club, and Marian University’s Construction Management Advisory Board.

Offering advice to other young professionals, Shell stated: "E + R = O. Events will happen. How you react to those events will dictate the outcome."

Reflecting on life in Fond du Lac and its future prospects, Shell said: "I love the small hometown feel that fondy has always given me and is probably why I will never leave!"
