Congressman Glenn Grothman (R-WI) issued a statement on the second anniversary of the October 7, 2023 attacks by Hamas on Israel. In his remarks, Grothman remembered those who lost their lives and those taken hostage during the incident.
“Two years ago, on October 7, the world watched in horror as Hamas terrorists launched an unprovoked and barbaric attack on Israel,” said Congressman Grothman. “The lives of over 1,200 innocent men, women, and children were lost, making this the deadliest assault on the Jewish people since the Holocaust. It was a stark reminder that antisemitism and terrorism remain powerful threats that must never be ignored or excused.
“Families lost loved ones, and hostages were taken from their homes. We must never forget those lives, and we continue to pray for the safe return of every hostage and for the families still grieving this horrific attack.
“The United States must stand with Israel, our strongest ally in the Middle East, and reject terrorism wherever it appears. President Trump’s leadership and plan to end this war and bring every hostage home gives hope for lasting peace and security.”
Grothman represents Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He has maintained his seat through several election cycles, including defeating John Zarbano in 2024 with 61.2% of the vote to Zarbano's 38.7%. He also won previous elections against Jessica King in 2020 with 59.2% of votes; Dan Kohl in 2018 with 55.5%; Sarah Lloyd in 2016 with 57.2%; and Mark L. Harris in 2014 with 56.8%.
