City of Fond du Lac issued the following announcement on August 24.
The Wisconsin Department of Revenue’s release of equalized values (an estimate of market value) on August 10, 2020 shows that for the first time in its history, the value of all real estate in the City of Fond du Lac is in excess of $3 billion. This represents an increase of 5% over the previous year and nearly 20% since just 2015. In terms of actual dollars, that is over a $141 million increase since last year and almost half a billion dollars increase in five years.
Additionally, the City of Fond du Lac’s 2020 net new construction increased by over $49 million, or 1.64% in the past year. Net new construction is a factor that drives the City’s allowable tax levy, which in turn provides the ability for the City to provide critical services to the growing tax base.
