Starting Monday, July 18, SSM Health Waupun Memorial Hospital Imaging Services, 620 W. Brown Street, will feature a permanent MRI parked alongside Beaver Dam Street.
The new 1.5T MRI scanner from Siemens will be operational weekdays, expanding the number of days available. The permanent will grow days of service from three days to five days.
“We have seen continued demand for Imaging Services at Waupun Memorial Hospital, and have outgrown our current capacity,” says Bill Daly, director of SSM Health Greater Fond du Lac Region Imaging Services. “This permanent addition – featuring a brand-new magnet – will help us ensure that are able to meet current and future needs.”
Waupun Memorial Hospital has previously leased the mobile MRI scanner, which featured care from caregivers outside of SSM Health. Imaging Services has added 1.6 FTEs to now staff the permanent MRI scanner.
“There are great benefits to utilizing our own team members to perform our MRI scans as they are most knowledgeable about our facility, our services, and our radiologists and specific protocols,” Daly says. “By utilizing the same staff for all scans, we will also create an enhanced consistency in our processes and procedures.”
