Envision Greater Fond du Lac recently organized a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Sam Meyer State Farm Agency to mark the opening of its new location. The agency is situated in a historic building that has been newly renovated.
State Farm, established in 1922, holds the title of the largest auto and home insurance provider in the United States. The company's success is attributed to its local agency presence, boasting over 19,000 agents nationwide. Sam Meyer has been part of the Fond du Lac community for many years, celebrating his 36th year with State Farm. His office is located in a restored 1860s doctor's office opposite the police station in Historic Downtown Fond du Lac.
Sam Meyer expressed his desire to share his new office with the community through this ribbon-cutting event. The relocation and restoration of the 1860s brick building on N. Main Street was described as a "labor of love." Meyer's approach to this project was guided by his motto: “Reuse, recycle, and restore,” emphasizing that many architectural elements are over a century old.
The State Farm agency remains a family business, with Sam's oldest son Ryan having recently become an agent in Winchester, Virginia, as of December 1, 2024. As stated by the Meyers: “[It’s] generations of service.”
The new Sam Meyer State Farm Agency can be found at 127 N. Main Street in Fond du Lac. For further details on plans, claims, and advice, interested parties are encouraged to visit their website.
Sam Meyer himself led the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new location in Fond du Lac. He was joined by employees and Envision Greater Fond du Lac Ambassadors during this event.
