Proceeds from this year’s Love Lights, presented by the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation, will help support the SSM Health Treffert Studios set to open later this year.
The Treffert Studios is an innovative 8,500-square-foot facility, housing a large variety of creative tools and innovative technology (video/film equipment, music instruments, art supplies, etc.).
In partnership with Moraine Park Technical College (MPTC), the Treffert Studios will utilize The Treffert Approach™️ by helping young adults build off their strengths.
The Treffert Studios will allow neurodivergent and other individuals to collaborate on creative arts and multimedia projects, thereby developing teamwork and communication skills, building confidence through self-expression, securing gainful employment, and ultimately taking the lead in their own lives.
The Treffert Studios is the next step in strategic expansion and growth of the SSM Health Treffert Center portfolio of services.
“There is no question that after more than 60 years of awe-inspiring service to Fond du Lac and beyond state and international borders, Darold Treffert, MD, an internationally-respected researcher in autism, hyperlexia, savant syndrome, and related conditions has left a definitive legacy,” according to Shawn Fisher, Agnesian HealthCare Foundation executive director. “The Agnesian HealthCare Foundation is proud to support the Treffert Studios and embrace the legacy of Dr. Darold Treffert.”
Individuals can support Love Lights by purchasing a light in honor of someone they wish to remember or celebrate during the holiday season. This light will shine on the beautifully lit evergreen in front of SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital.
The names of those honored and remembered will be displayed through the holiday season by visiting ssmhealth.com/lovelightsfdl.
Love Lights can be purchased for $10 each by visiting ssmhealth.com/lovelightsfdl or calling the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation at 920-926-5418.
In addition, the Foundation also offers Angel Lights ($150 and above) for interested individuals. All donations of $150 and above will have a special designation on the online Love Lights tribute page.
The public is invited to a virtual Love Light Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6:30 pm on Monday, December 5 on the SSM Health Greater Fond du Lac Region Facebook page.
