Women’s Health Month is observed every May to raise awareness about women's health issues. It encourages women to prioritize their well-being through regular checkups, preventive care, and informed lifestyle choices.

Watertown Regional Medical Center is urging women to focus on their health this month and beyond. They suggest several activities as a guide for maintaining good health:

- Schedule an annual wellness visit by calling 920.533.9762 or booking an appointment with an OBGYN or primary care provider online.

- Engage in regular exercise, aiming for at least 150 minutes of moderate activity each week.

- Maintain a healthier, well-balanced diet that includes foods low in salt, fat, and cholesterol.

- Control your weight and work towards reducing it if necessary.

- Lower stress or anxiety levels by taking "me" time. Options include getting a massage, taking a yoga class, or scheduling an appointment with a licensed counselor.

- Quit smoking and reduce alcohol use.

- Ensure you get enough sleep, with the recommended amount being 7-9 hours per night for adults.

- Women over 40 should schedule a mammogram every two years.

"Happy Women’s Health month!" the medical center states. They hope individuals will take this opportunity to make strides toward healthier living.
