Fond du Lac Festivals is preparing for the 46th annual Walleye Weekend, scheduled from June 6 to June 8, 2025. This event is known as the largest free family-friendly festival in Fond du Lac and its surrounding areas. The festival continues with support from partner organizations and numerous volunteers.
In 2024, Amber Bodart from Verve a Credit Union and Joe Venhuizen from Envision Greater Fond du Lac were appointed as Junior Co-Chairs. They will now take on the role of Senior Co-Chairs, sharing their experience with new members of the Walleye Weekend team.
The new Junior Co-Chairs for 2025 are Holly Brenner from C.D. Smith and Grant Monroe from The Arc of Fond du Lac. Executive Director Pete Wilke expressed enthusiasm about the community's support: “We are excited to have so much support in this community and be surrounded by great individuals each and every year.”
Walleye Weekend will feature traditional events such as the SSM Health Walleye Run/Walk and Mercury Marine National Walleye Tournament. New additions include a Fun on the Run Animal Racing Show, an Inflatables Village, and a Chalk Art Contest organized by Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts. Returning favorites like the Wild World of Animals Exotic Animal Show and Pier Pups Jumping Canines Show will also be part of the festivities.
Purchases made at Walleye Weekend contribute to supporting local non-profit organizations through Fond du Lac Festivals' mission. Annually, over $200,000 has been raised for the community thanks to sponsors, volunteers, and attendees.
